The Astrea I vibrating brief is “one size fits most,” which of course means “one size fits size small.” It cuts into my skin very efficiently.
Being from the Berman Center line, it comes with a tacky purple organza bag and batteries (2 AAAs for the vibrating piece and one 12V for the remote control). The remote is very inconspicuous: completely black with “C.E.N.I.” on it. A few tests confirm that the remote has great range (well over the 12 feet it promises), though I question why that even matters since the toy has only one speed/function/setting: on.
There’s a pouch in the underwear that I assume is meant for the vibrating part. Putting the 1″ x 2.5″ vibrating piece in there vibrates my perineum. My perineum, people! Which sounds a lot more pleasurable than it is.
Since the underwear is so damn tight, I can tuck the vibrating piece against my clit and it hangs out there. It’s fairly quiet and could definitely blend in at a bar or concert. I would not suggest tight pants, though. You may appear to have a tiny erect penis. I would not suggest walking, either. It’s too large to fit between my labia, so that’s… awkward.
Somehow, some way, this is priced at nearly $70. Need I say more?

I’m betting the range is for a lover to control the vibrating piece. The lover can turn it on or off and the panty wearer is at their mercy. At least, that’s what I’m assuming it’s for. *shrug*

@Eliot: Well, yes, obviously. Otherwise it wouldn’t be remote controlled. But having just two options sounds like a pretty boring time to me.

Sounds like the Venus Penis 2 I reviewed ages ago, in that there was only one speed. And that speed was “whisper”, lol.
I’m honestly appalled at the pricing. $70 and they can’t even make different sizes?!? If you stop and think for a minute here, I’d be generous and say that at MOST this sucker costs them $10 to make.
It’s shit like this that makes me so glad I am a reviewer and no longer wasting my money (wow did I waste money in the past) but also, I feel this driving need to make sure that more buyers see our reviews. If you type in “sex toy reviews” in Google….Pleasurist’s site isn’t on the first page. One of the top results is even a company who’s reviews of the toys they sell are 90% positive, no matter how crappy the toy is.

The Model I sounds like the Model II I reviewed (http://www.xcritic.com/review/34026/astrea-ii—vibrating-remote-thong/ ) with all the same limitations. Since it isn’t waterproof, the longevity of the vibrator is in question too.

@Don Houston: I don’t think they’re even different models at all, just different styles of underwear. Good point about it not being waterproof, too. I didn’t think of that, in terms of female wetness.
